4th of July Clam Bake

Our firework display was on Tuesday-night.
Both girls enjoyed the show and this marks the first year that nobody was scared of the big "bangs!"

On the 4th we all headed off to the Annual Family Clam Bake.

As it is every year-- lots of fun.

Most of the younger set cooled-off pool side.

Josie enjoyed her first (root)Beer.

Preparing the clams.

I missed the big bonfire--

Wim walking throuch clam steam.

All the hot rocks, seaweed and food are in
the big metal can.

Meanwhile, slip-n-slide races!

Time to chow!

Clara Rose wasn't mincing words--

Time to eat clams!

Wim and Xavier discussing who knows what???

Several of the kids.

They actually gathered so another one of them (kid) could take a picture.

One of the biggest kids playing Mr. Potatoe Head.

The younger ones thought he was riot!
Great day.
Great Food.
Great Time!

Jellystone Part II

Our third day started off good.

The girls posing with a little Boo Boo Bear statue . . .

Who came walking out?

The real Boo Boo Bear!
We went for our morning hayride with Boo Boo bear.

Took some funny pictures.

The girls are sticking their tongue out at Yogi Bear.

Then it started to rain while they were on the
bouncy pillow.

Wim found refuge in this wooden train.

Believe it or not-- all four of us fit into it!

What to do on a rainy day?

Make Tye-dye shirts!

We tried going for a drive to do a little hike, but the rain didn't let up.
We headed back to the campground.

The girls had a couple of bags of miners dirt to sift through.
The mining area had a tin roof so we headed over there to
look for our gold and treasures.

Then we went to the pavillion and played Dominoes and Puppy Bingo.

The rain finally stopped.
The sun came out and the campground opened up
all their fun stuff!!!

Clara Rose and Josie were thrilled to ride the train
all by themself!

Yogi Bear was tired of being cooped-up as well.

He came out to play some games on the playground!

All the kids enjoyed playing Hide-n-seek.

Yogi was 'it.'

Clara Rose led Yogi Bear over to the swing set.

Then she helped walk him back to his bed.

Wim starting our last camfire.

Gotta have more smores!

On our last morning, both Boo Boo and Yogi Bear came out
to say good-bye!
What a great little mini-vacay!

Hey Boo Boo!

Guess where we were?

Jellystone Park!

The girls aren't really familiar with Yogi Bear cartoons, but that sure didn't slow them down from
have tons of fun with the big picnic basket stealing bear.

Exploring the campground shortly after unpacking.

It was a super hot day and we were thrilled
to find the pools and a bouncy water slide!

Josie--swimming underwater.

She likes to dive down deep in the shallow end.
She 'tried' talking me into letting her swim in the deep end.

We roasted hot dogs over the fire for dinner followed by the
all time camping fave--smores!

Then we were off to explore all the playgrounds.

I guess it was the camping spirit--
Josie nearly made it all the way across on the
monkey bars.

The next day after breakfast,
we got the day started with our new Pal Yogi Bear!

We helped him raise the flag.

Went on a hayride.

More photo ops.

Hit the bouncy pillow.

Went off-roading on pedal cars!

I got my run in keeping up with these two!

We spent most of the afternoon cooling off in the river.

I think the girls enjoyed this more than the pool!
The river is shallow and they could walk all over the place.

They kept chanting they were on an adventure-- exploring the jungle.

A spin on some rides in the game room.

Back to a different playground we discovered on the hayride.

This one has a super cool tire swing!

Ayi Ayi Captain!

A Prelude to Summer Fun

Summer is coming our way-- slowly, but it is coming!

Hanging out with friends at a local playground.

Enjoying the play equipment. . ..

and showing off new skills.

A walk around a pond--

Ice-cream lips,

Baby geese,

Posing with statues,

performing impromptu on stage.

Another weekend-- off to a Chinese fesitval and Dragon Boat Races.

Enjoying sweet treats while watching shows and boat races.

You know it is a good treat if
it makes your tongue change colors!

The opening of the spray park!

All kind of splash time fun!

Another day, the splash park with friends!

Looks like the start of another fun summer!
