This was Clara Rose's first trip to NH and to Storyland-- it was Josie's second trip to both but her first with both me and her DADDY.
The drive is a little long for girl's their age. We left later in the evening hoping they would fall asleep along the way-- yeah, forget that!
They were troopers along the way and were super excited to explore the Barn when we arrived.
The next morning we were up bright and early-- more on the early side than the bright side, but that is OK-- we were ready for a fun-filled day!
Upon entering the park there is a playground with all kinds of strange creatures inclding a couple of talking trees place near each other but next to each other.
For anyone to familar with Storyland, this is an amusement park designed for little kids.
This is one at the base of a big tree house with slides to play on.
Josie didn't care too much for the talking trees-- but managed to overcome her fright to enjoy the tree house and slides.
Clara Rose insisted I go up the tree house with her the first two times and after that, we really had to keep an eye on her! She kept running all around talking to the trees and then climbing back up the tree house and sliding down the slides.
Here is the little spider from Little Miss. Muffet, but the girls are more inclined to itsy bitsy spider
and sang the sonog to him.
Oh boy! Look at this pie!
Ride'm cowgirl!
Afer exploring the playground area, we were on the amusement ride section of Storyland. First of the rides, the teacups. This was Clara Rose's very first amusement ride and we weren't sure what to expect. By the look on her face, she wasn't quite sure either!
A few shots during the ride-- what do you think?
I think Clara Rose likes amusement rides a lot!
I'll also point out that the number on the tea cup we were in was the number 4. Josie was quick to point out to us that there are 4 of us AND she is turning 4 on her next birthday (that is still a few months away). We ended up riding in several *cars* that were number 4.
Here are the girls riding a german style carousel. The horses rock instead of go up and down.
We rode on a big boat shaped like a swan and visied butterfly island.
And... give me a Drum Roll Please . . . .
Josie Dong Dong rode on her very first roller coaster! She wanted to ride it last year and even though she was tall enough (at 2-1/2) I would not take her on it.
That is me and Josie in the last car going up the hill.
Riding around the track.
Josie really enjoyed the roller coaster!
Next we went on the Clokinspiel and were twirled around like gears in a clock.
Josie was very excited to meet Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Clara Rose wasn't too interested in getting very close.
The girls were getting a little tired and I thought a trip to the Loopy Lab would give them a second wind.
Oh boy was I right!
The Loopy Lab is fille with tons of foam balls and vaccums and shoots for the kids to play with.
Josie is trying to catch some of the balls that fly out of this popcorn popper like thing.
Clara Rose grabbed a sack and started filling it with balls.
"C'mon Mommy I have a great idea!"
Upstairs are some ball guns and Little Clara Rose was ready to aim and fire!
"Hey! Whose that Clara Rose up there shooting at us?"
Josie Dong Dong ready to shoot some balls and take names!
The girls had a great time playing in the Loopy Lab and shooting balls.
What better way to follow up a Loopy Lab than to go for a ride on a flying whale?
The girls were buckled in super tight (I almost turnakitted their legs), but this ride really flew!
One of Josie's big request for the day was to ride on the choo-choo train.
Josie was super happy riding on the choo choo train.
Clara Rose was chatting it up with a little boy sitting behind us.
Enjoying the sites along the ride.
During the train ride, Josie said she wanted to drive one of the cars. We got off the train-- the girls were running around like little lunatics, laughing and giggling and being super silly. I told them to get in the stroller and we'd get some candy ice and head over to the cars.
They got in the stroller laughing and giggling and then . . .. .
Instant Dead Silence.
Clara Rose did manage to rouse herself for the shaved ice treat.
She's turning into a Smurf!
Clara Rose kept laughing that Josie was passed out sleeping behind her.
Yes, Josie is in the stroller behind her. We laid the back down so she could sleep better.
Time to head back to the barn. We piled the girls into the van and hit road back to our home away from home.
Now it was time for Mommy and Daddy to have a sweet adventure of thier own kind!
