Family Gatherings, Photo Shoots, Birthdays, and Fun!

Family Gatherings, Photo Shoots, Birthdays, and Fun!

Just another way of saying here is a re-cap of events.

The Sherman Family Gathering-- our family, Nie-Nie, Wim's brother and his kids.

A random day at home-- Josie directed me to get the camera for a photo shoot.

After I took a couple pictures-- Josie took over the camera.

She directed me where and how to sit.

Clara Rose took this one of Wim cooking.

Another great shot by Josie.

We celebrated Cousin Nate's 7th Birthday with a
big fun bash!

Everyone beat the heat Poolside at the party--

Josie and Emily.

So, we're busy having lots of fun-- it is summer after all . . .

Tall Ships

This past weekend we joined Becky and her family to brave
the crowds and board some Tall Ships that are visitng nearby.
The younger set was excited for the day out and about with each other.

The first ship we stumbled across-- The Bounty.
It was pretty cool and even had Jack Sparrow like Pirate aboard.

Clara Rose, Nate, Emily, and Josie sitting at table inside
The Bounty.

There was also a festival with lots of vendors, music, and a really
cool bird rescue charity.

I think this is onboard the Gazella.
Clara Rose managed to overcome her disappointment
that we weren't boarding 'rocket ships.'

We've been talking about going to see the Tall Ships and
she thought we were going to see rocket ships--not 'boats.'

Emily, Nate, and their Dad.

Ahoy, Matey!
There's a happy crew!

At this point, I lost track of where we were.

This might be the Peacemaker, but don't
make me walk the plank if I'm wrong.

I don't think the kiddos cared
too much about which Ships we boarded (we managed to board five).

They were pretty excited to explore the big "boats"
and catch a nice breeze.

It was a hot sunny day!

All of the kids did great!

Most of them managed to catch a piggy back ride at
the end of our day.

4th of July Clam Bake

Our firework display was on Tuesday-night.
Both girls enjoyed the show and this marks the first year that nobody was scared of the big "bangs!"

On the 4th we all headed off to the Annual Family Clam Bake.

As it is every year-- lots of fun.

Most of the younger set cooled-off pool side.

Josie enjoyed her first (root)Beer.

Preparing the clams.

I missed the big bonfire--

Wim walking throuch clam steam.

All the hot rocks, seaweed and food are in
the big metal can.

Meanwhile, slip-n-slide races!

Time to chow!

Clara Rose wasn't mincing words--

Time to eat clams!

Wim and Xavier discussing who knows what???

Several of the kids.

They actually gathered so another one of them (kid) could take a picture.

One of the biggest kids playing Mr. Potatoe Head.

The younger ones thought he was riot!
Great day.
Great Food.
Great Time!

Jellystone Part II

Our third day started off good.

The girls posing with a little Boo Boo Bear statue . . .

Who came walking out?

The real Boo Boo Bear!
We went for our morning hayride with Boo Boo bear.

Took some funny pictures.

The girls are sticking their tongue out at Yogi Bear.

Then it started to rain while they were on the
bouncy pillow.

Wim found refuge in this wooden train.

Believe it or not-- all four of us fit into it!

What to do on a rainy day?

Make Tye-dye shirts!

We tried going for a drive to do a little hike, but the rain didn't let up.
We headed back to the campground.

The girls had a couple of bags of miners dirt to sift through.
The mining area had a tin roof so we headed over there to
look for our gold and treasures.

Then we went to the pavillion and played Dominoes and Puppy Bingo.

The rain finally stopped.
The sun came out and the campground opened up
all their fun stuff!!!

Clara Rose and Josie were thrilled to ride the train
all by themself!

Yogi Bear was tired of being cooped-up as well.

He came out to play some games on the playground!

All the kids enjoyed playing Hide-n-seek.

Yogi was 'it.'

Clara Rose led Yogi Bear over to the swing set.

Then she helped walk him back to his bed.

Wim starting our last camfire.

Gotta have more smores!

On our last morning, both Boo Boo and Yogi Bear came out
to say good-bye!
What a great little mini-vacay!
