Dong Dong Dynasty Land

Hi Everyone,

It's been another eventful week (plus) in Dong Dong Dynasty Land.

This week Josie had her first appointment with the Doctor for which she made a quick decision that she does not like the doctor or anyone who works there.

She was not happy getting weighed and measured (I don't know ANY females who like to be weighed).

She was not happy with the doctor listening to her breathing or her heart.

She was not happy with the Doctor looking in her eyes and her ears.

She went ballistic when it came time for the shots-- beet purple and howled-- HOWLED.

She calmed down quickly after it was over and happily sat on my lap eating some apple slices I brought along.

Afterward we went to the hair salon so I could get a much needed haircut and Josie was much happier there. She sat in her stroller next to me while I got my hair cut. Munching on her banana cookies and swaying back and forth to the music that was playing. She was a huge hit!

Today we visited the daycare we will be using when I go back to work. Josie got to meet her teacher and some of her new friends. She was very shy while we were there and we will be doing a few play dates there before I go back to work.

Now for a view into Dong Dong Dynasty Land.

One of Josie's favorite things to do is laugh it up with her royal court. She really is a ham and she likes to do funny things and laugh about it.

Here is a picture of me and Josie playing one of her favorite games-- TICKLEBUG!

OMG! She LOVES to be tickled!

Josie has had a cold the past few days. She was all stuffed-up which made it very difficult for her to suck her thumb and breathe. She's been quite frustrated by the situation. She would keep looking at her thumb like there was something wrong with it-- then she would try the other thumb. Finally she got to the point where she was trying to suck her toes to see if they still worked.

Josie has found some comfort and comic relief from her cold by playing with Daddy and her big sister and brother.

Daddy is always good for a lift and some fun tosses.

Gabrielle and Josie had fun playing with Josie's hood. Josie HATES to have anything on her head and she doesn't muck like it if other people have something on their head either.

She tends to pull hats off-- regardless of if they are on her or on us!

She has it on her list of things to outlaw in Dong Dong Dynasty Land.

Gabrielle and Xavier have a walkie talkie set and they both tried to show Josie how to use it. She was very interested in all the buttons and sounds made by this new toy.

Josie has taken to experimenting with new drinking devices-- namely straws in my drinks.

Oh boy! Mommy really needs to be careful about which drinks she leaves unattended in Dong Dong Dynasty Land!

Josie has decided that Phoebe is worthy of being the royal steed in Dong Dong Dynasty Land and they are becoming good friends.
Josie isn't as afraid of Phoebe anymore and we couldn't be happier with how well behaved Phoebe is with Josie. She still jumps on us and misbehaves that way, but she doesn't do it to Josie-- she is very gently with her, although, she does like to give her a few licks. Babies are sticky and Phoebe loves her sticky-goodness.

Josie is giving Phoebe a kiss in this picture.

Another activity that Josie seems to like is running errands throughout Dong Dong Dynasty Land with me. She likes to ride in the van, and dance in her seat to the music. I always bring some snacks for her in case she gets fussy while we are out. I have a feeling that she would like me to pack her some different snacks, because I found her packing some food items in OUR purse.

Next on the list of FAVES in Dong Dong Dynasty-Land-- TOYS!
Whaddaya Expect?
Josie still likes for me or someone to be nearby while she is on her riding toys and she still needs some help getting on and off of them, but she is starting to get the hang of how they work.
Here are some shots of her having a blast!

Josie also loves her books. She isn't quite ready to be read to yet. She mostly likes to look at the cover and the back. This particular books plays music and had lights that flicker when you open it. She loves it!
She really likes music and lights so this book is the bomb in Dong Dong Dynasty Land.
Not so happy times were threatening Dong Dong Dynasty Land yesterday morning when Daddy decided to start taking pictures of everyone-- FIRST THING IN THE MORNING! Some were taken before people even got out of bed.

Empress Dong Dong wasn't happy about this state of events and told Daddy to knock it off or he would be on Stinky-Pie diaper detail for REALLY long time-- especially if he didn't knock it off before taking Mommy's picture.

That is the update from Dong Dong Dynasty Land. Be sure to stay tuned, we just don't know what kind of excitement we'll russel-up next week.
Love,
Reena and Josie Dong Dong

I'm glad to see that Josie is doing so well! Lily hated the doctor, too. I love the picture with the toe in her mouth!

Hope you had a Happy Mother's Day!
