Shaiman Island is experiencing a major overhaul right now. Guangzhou is going to host the Asian Games and the Chinese government is making sure everything is spiffy and bright. This means the area is not so spiffy and bright right now. Every block, every street is major construction. Our hotel loans out unbrellas to guests and we've been joking that they should be loaning out construction hard hats to everyone instead of umbrellas. My Engineering friends at work would have a hay day here. I don't think there is an OSHA equivalent here in China. |
