Josie has had it! She is tired of her Daddy paying so much attention to this new little "gurl!" Yesterday she got the opportunity to show him and did she ever! For the first time since we got Clara Rose, Josie was her normal 3-year old self again-- playing with new Daddy! The man pictured. Josie had a BLAST playing with him in the play room at the hotel. She made sure Wim was watching. When we adopted Josie nearly 2-years ago, the play room here was often filled with parents and their babies/toddlers. Since then, the time to adopt a "healthy" baby under the age of 2 from China has increased to nearly 4-years. Many adoptive parents are deciding to adopt older children or children with mild/moderate medical conditions for which the timeline to complete the adoption much shorter. We waited a little over two VERY LONG years to adopt Josie. Two years from the time China received all of our completed paperwork to when we recieved the referral for Josie. When we had begun that adoption process the wait to complete the adoption was 5-8 months and it balooned. We have completed Clara Rose's adoption in less than a year from the very beginning-- the homestudy with a Social worker. Our paperwork was recieved by China in August-- so this adoption happened very quickly. Back to my point-- while it is somewhat sad not to see all the babies/toddlers playing in the play room here, it is wonderful to see all the older kids being adopted! I gotta go-- kids are getting up. |

I didn't realize your jouney to Clara Rose was so quickly. How encouraging to those new families who are open to China's Waiting children!
